Empanadas

The colombian empanadas recipe is below. It's not a very complicated recipe. The stuffing you can make at you own liking. This recipe makes a filling made from chicken or meat. But how the filling is prepared is after  your own taste. The total cooking time is approximately 1 hour, depending on quantity.

  1. Put together products you need. Salt, Sugar, Meat (chopped), chicken (fillet), garlic, cumin seeds and ofcourse Arina Pan (white corn meal, get in different Asian shops)

  2. The chicken and meat are cooked. We have done it with garlic and cumin seeds for the flavor.

  3. On the gas the chicken and meat are cooked.

  4. During the cooking we put parts of paprika with the meat.

  5. After the meat and chicken are cooked. The chicken is pulled into little pieces, you can do it with your hands. When this is done, the chicken returns to the gas with a egg for the flavor.

  6. Put the Arina Pan in a bowl, add a little sugar and salt.After that you can add water to the mix.

  7. Meng this to a dough, you can do with your hands.

  8. When ready you make a small ball which you roll out on your counter top to a size of the shape of the Empanada.

  9. Then you add your filling and you close the form. The excess dough can be removed below.

  10. The empanadas can you fry in oil or in the fryer as in the picture.

  11. If they have a nice color and come up they are done. Leave them to drain on kitchen paper and then you can present them on a plate.
